"One day Jon Foreman stumbled into an old Catholic church where he happened to find Coldplay performing a stripped down set in front of these magnificent stained-glass windows. Out of the blue and through the back door Johnny Cash walked in. With a partially torn Bible hanging out of his back pocket and a handkerchief in his hand, Johnny lifted his hand to wipe the sweat off his brow, having just come in from the cotton fields still singing that old country hymn his grandmother taught him when he was boy.  He takes the old Martin acoustic from across his back, swings it around and starts to join in with the chorus."  If the sound of singer/songwriter Brady Toops could be expressed through a story, the above would make due.  In his music, Brady combines elements of spiritual folk and soul into a sound that reminds one of the good old days, those times when life was good and friendship was enough.

Having grown up in New London, a small town near west-central Minnesota, Brady spent much of his younger years playing on diamonds and fields littered with other boys. After succeeding in America's National Pastime, he chose to press on into the world of music, his first love.  Desiring not so much to make music that needs to be defined, but more so needs to be felt, Brady writes lyric and melody that takes one back to the days when music was on the front porch filled with laughter and great reminiscing.

When not on the road, Brady spends his days balancing solitude and friendship in the countryside of Franklin, TN.  Besides friends and family, most of his attention these days is on songwriting, worshipping, recording, performing, and sharing his heart at various houses, churches, and venues around the United States.
